Abstract

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) remain the leading cause of mortality worldwide. Early detection and continuous monitoring of cardiac conditions are crucial for reducing morbidity and mortality. Wearable devices have emerged as transformative tools in modern healthcare, enabling real-time cardiac monitoring outside traditional clinical environments. These devices incorporate advanced sensors capable of measuring heart rate, electrocardiographic activity, blood oxygen saturation, physical activity, and other physiological parameters. Recent technological advancements have significantly improved their accuracy, accessibility, and integration with telemedicine platforms. This review explores the role of wearable devices in cardiac monitoring, including their applications in arrhythmia detection, heart failure management, rehabilitation, and preventive cardiology. The article further examines technological innovations, clinical benefits, limitations, ethical concerns, and future directions. The integration of wearable technologies with artificial intelligence and remote healthcare systems is expected to revolutionize personalized cardiovascular care and improve patient outcomes.
