The International Journal of Clinical Studies and Medical Research (IJCSMR) recognizes the growing use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in research, writing, and scholarly communication. This policy outlines the journal's expectations regarding the responsible, transparent, and ethical use of AI-assisted tools in manuscript preparation and research activities.
Authors may use Generative AI tools to assist with:
Language editing and grammar improvement.
Improving readability and clarity of text.
Formatting and organization of content.
Translation support.
Literature exploration and research assistance.
The use of AI tools must not compromise the accuracy, originality, integrity, or scientific validity of the manuscript.
Authors remain fully responsible for all content submitted to the journal, including any content generated, edited, or assisted by AI tools.
Authors are accountable for:
The accuracy of all statements, data, analyses, and conclusions.
Ensuring that AI-generated content does not contain factual errors, fabricated references, misleading information, or plagiarism.
Verifying all information before submission.
The use of AI does not transfer responsibility from the author to the technology provider.
Authors must disclose the use of Generative AI tools when such tools have made a substantial contribution to the preparation of the manuscript.
The disclosure should include:
The name of the AI tool used.
The purpose for which the tool was used.
A brief description of the extent of its use.
Such disclosures should be included in an appropriate section of the manuscript, such as the acknowledgments or a dedicated disclosure statement.
Generative AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors of a manuscript.
Only individuals who meet the journal's authorship criteria may be credited as authors. AI systems cannot assume responsibility for the integrity, accuracy, originality, or ethical compliance of scholarly work.
Authors should exercise caution when using AI tools for data analysis, interpretation, image generation, statistical evaluation, or research-related decision-making.
Any use of AI that materially influences research findings or conclusions should be clearly disclosed and adequately explained within the manuscript.
The following practices are not permitted:
Submission of entirely AI-generated manuscripts without meaningful human contribution.
Use of AI to fabricate, falsify, manipulate, or misrepresent research data.
Creation of fictitious references, citations, results, or supporting evidence.
Concealment of substantial AI-generated content when disclosure is required.
Use of AI in a manner that violates research ethics or intellectual property rights.
Editors may request additional information regarding the use of AI tools during manuscript evaluation. Manuscripts that fail to comply with this policy may be rejected, returned for clarification, or subject to further ethical review.
Reviewers and editors must not upload confidential manuscript content to public AI platforms if doing so could compromise confidentiality, privacy, copyright, or intellectual property protections.
All participants in the peer-review process are expected to maintain the confidentiality of unpublished manuscripts.
Failure to comply with this policy may result in editorial actions, including manuscript rejection, publication correction, retraction, or other measures deemed appropriate by the journal.
IJCSMR reserves the right to revise this Generative AI Policy as technologies, ethical standards, and publishing practices continue to evolve.
