Editorial Policies

The International Journal of Clinical Studies and Medical Research (IJCSMR) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scholarly publishing through a fair, transparent, and ethical editorial process. The journal follows the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and internationally recognized best practices for scholarly publishing.

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are made independently by the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board without influence from authors, institutions, sponsors, advertisers, or any external organization. Manuscripts are evaluated solely on their scientific quality, originality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal's scope.

Initial Editorial Assessment

Every submitted manuscript undergoes an initial editorial screening to determine:

  • Relevance to the journal's aims and scope.
  • Compliance with the Author Guidelines.
  • Completeness of the submission.
  • Ethical compliance.
  • Language and presentation quality.
  • Similarity screening results.

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's basic requirements may be returned to the authors before peer review.

Peer Review Management

The Editorial Office is responsible for managing the peer-review process from submission to final decision. This includes:

  • Selecting qualified independent reviewers with appropriate expertise.
  • Maintaining a fair, confidential, and unbiased review process.

Issue Compilation and Publication

The Editorial Office is responsible for:

  • Compiling accepted manuscripts into scheduled journal issues.
  • Assigning manuscripts to the appropriate volume and issue.
  • Verifying article metadata.
  • Coordinating DOI assignment.
  • Preparing final publication files.
  • Publishing issues according to the journal's publication schedule.

Special Issues and Supplementary Issues may be published when approved by the Editorial Board.

Copyediting and Proofreading

Before publication, every accepted manuscript undergoes professional editorial processing, including:

  • Language editing.
  • Grammar and spelling correction.
  • Formatting according to journal style.
  • Reference verification.
  • DOI verification where applicable.
  • Proofreading of the final version.
  • Author proof approval before publication.

Author Support

The Editorial Office provides assistance to authors throughout the publication process, including:

  • Submission guidance.
  • Technical support.
  • Revision assistance.
  • Publication process inquiries.
  • Article proof review.
  • Publication scheduling.

Authors are encouraged to communicate through the journal's official email addresses for all publication-related correspondence.

Publication Ethics

The journal is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the principles of COPE and ICMJE.

The Editorial Office investigates allegations involving:

  • Plagiarism.
  • Duplicate publication.
  • Data fabrication or falsification.
  • Image manipulation.
  • Authorship disputes.
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest.
  • Ethical approval concerns.
  • Citation manipulation.
  • Reviewer misconduct.

Appropriate corrective actions may include rejection, corrections, expressions of concern, or retraction.

Plagiarism Screening

All manuscripts are screened using Turnitin or equivalent plagiarism detection software before peer review.

Manuscripts exceeding the journal's acceptable similarity threshold or containing evidence of plagiarism may be rejected without peer review.

Confidentiality

Editors, reviewers, and editorial staff must maintain strict confidentiality throughout the editorial process.

Information regarding submitted manuscripts shall not be disclosed to anyone except individuals directly involved in editorial evaluation and publication.

Conflict of Interest

Editors must declare any actual or potential conflicts of interest.

Editors with a conflict of interest regarding a manuscript shall recuse themselves from handling the submission, and an independent editor will be assigned.

Corrections and Retractions

When significant errors or research misconduct are identified after publication, the journal will issue:

  • Corrections (Errata or Corrigenda)
  • Retractions
  • Expressions of Concern
  • Editorial Notes

These actions will be implemented in accordance with COPE recommendations.

Research Integrity

The Editorial Board promotes research integrity by ensuring that published manuscripts demonstrate:
