Peer Review Policy

The International Journal of Clinical Studies and Medical Research (IJCSMR) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scholarly publishing through a rigorous and transparent peer-review process. Peer review serves as an essential mechanism for ensuring the quality, validity, originality, and scientific integrity of published research.

Review Model

IJCSMR follows a Single-Blind Peer Review process. In this model, reviewers are aware of the identities of the authors, while the identities of reviewers remain confidential and are not disclosed to authors.

Initial Editorial Assessment

Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial editorial evaluation to determine:

  • Relevance to the journal's aims and scope.

  • Compliance with submission guidelines.

  • Scientific quality and originality.

  • Ethical and publication standards.

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's basic requirements may be returned to the authors for correction or rejected without external review.

Peer Review Process

Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial editorial assessment are assigned to qualified reviewers with expertise relevant to the subject area.

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:

  • Originality and novelty

  • Scientific rigor and methodology

  • Accuracy of data and analysis

  • Clarity of presentation

  • Relevance to clinical and medical research

  • Ethical compliance

Reviewers provide detailed comments and recommendations to assist editors in making publication decisions.

Review Timeline

The peer-review process generally takes approximately 4–6 weeks, although review times may vary depending on reviewer availability, manuscript complexity, and the number of revision rounds required.

Editorial Decisions

Based on reviewer reports and editorial evaluation, one of the following decisions may be issued:

  • Accept

  • Minor Revision

  • Major Revision

  • Reject

The Editor-in-Chief or designated editor retains the final authority regarding all publication decisions.

Revision Process

Authors receiving revision requests should carefully address all reviewer comments and submit a revised manuscript along with a detailed response explaining the changes made.

Failure to adequately respond to reviewer concerns may result in rejection of the manuscript.

Confidentiality

All submitted manuscripts and reviewer reports are treated as confidential documents. Information contained within manuscripts may not be disclosed or used by reviewers or editors for personal advantage.

Conflict of Interest

Editors and reviewers must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that could influence the review process. Individuals with significant conflicts may be excluded from handling or reviewing the manuscript.

Ethical Considerations

The journal expects reviewers and editors to report any concerns regarding:

  • Plagiarism

  • Duplicate publication

  • Data fabrication or falsification

  • Unethical research practices

  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest

Appropriate actions will be taken in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.

Appeals

Authors who believe that a decision was made in error may submit a written appeal to the editorial office. Appeals will be reviewed by the editorial team, and the final decision will be communicated to the author.

Policy Updates

The journal reserves the right to revise this Peer Review Policy when necessary to maintain the integrity and quality of the publication process.
